Lights In the Night – is this year's new 'La nuit des musées' event. At sundown on Saturday, 14. May, many museums throughout France offer free entry and will be staying open until 01:00. This will be like a démi 'Nuit Blanche,' with culture. InfoTel.: 01 40 15 36 00.

Les Femmes Oubliées de Buchenwald – while mostly men were held in Buchenwald, many women from all over Europe were slave workers supporting the concentration camp, and this is their story. Du Refuge au Piège – from refuge to trap, the history of the deportation of Jews from Paris and France. Of some 75,721 sent east only 2567 returned. Porte–Bouquets – little cones of metal, porcelain or glass for carrying bouquets were an indispensable accessory for young ladies in the 19th century. On show, 130 of them, until 16. October. La France Romane – covers the neglected period from the coronation in 987 of Hugues Capet, to the marriage of Eleanor of Aquitaine in 1152, from Roman art to Gothic. Until Monday, 6. June. Brésil, Brésils – this is Brazil's 'Year in France' so it is not one show but a whole country's culture that is on view and in the air here and there, now and then, all over. The Hidden Tribes of the Amazon – close to the frontiers with Peru and Columbia, Sydney Possuelo led an expedition to visit the Felcheiros indians. Mona Lisa's New Home – the room usually known as the Louvre's Salle des Etats has reopened, completely renovated to provide a fitting showcase for the museum's collection of Italian art. Paul Guigou – escaped practicing law to paint the colors of Provence in Paris and is considered by some to be the initiator of 'Impressionism.'
