The 'Mobilis' Ticket is the Ticket

The Paris transit authority, RATP, and its partner, the SNCF, have a vast variety of local ticket options and sometimes it's hard to tell if something is new, or has simply been lost in a clutter of options.

This 'Mobilis' ticket may be a View at Bercy new one, because after I accidently noticed it on sale, I also noticed that there are unattractive posters advertising it.

It might be a good value. The one-day 'Mobilis' ticket costs 30 francs for unlimited travel within Paris' zones one and two; 40 francs for zones one to three; and 70 francs a day for five zones. This ticket is good for the métro, buses, the RER and some suburban buses.

For reference, Paris' zones one and two include the near suburbs, and zone three takes in most of the mid-outer ones. Versailles, Saint-Germain-en-Laye and Orly are all in zone four and the Charles-de-Gaulle airport at Roissy is in zone five.

Services not included for use with the 'Mobilis' ticket are the special Orly/Roissy Bus, the Orly/Roissy Rail and the OrlyVal rail service. I think it is possible to take an ordinary RER - line B3 - to the airport at Roissy with it.
