Dana's mention of the RER 'C' line rang the bell. By taking the brochure for Sannois' Musée Utrillo-Valadon exhibition titled 'La Vie de Bohème' andphoto: club's cafe looking very carefully with aid of a magnifying-glass at some four-point type, its location becomes evident. And doubly so when I look at a map of the RER lines.

It wasn't the 'Drink of the Week,' but I had some café anyway.

Maybe I should have titled this section 'Sannois Found!' but it wasn't lost. I think I must have been still jet-lagged last week without knowing it. Anyway, while on the subject, here is Sannois again:

'La Vie de Bohème' - is currently on view at the Musée Utrillo-Valadon until 14. February 2001, in Sannois in the Val d'Oise. Open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 17:00, and on Fridays until 18:30. Take the RER 'C-3' line to Argenteuil and get off at Sannois. Infotel.: 01 39 98 21 44.

About the Club

The Café Metropole Club is a meeting place in Paris for the readers of the weekly online magazine 'Metropole Paris' - which is the online magazine you are reading right now - who are in Paris on a Thursday and are in the vicinity of the club's café at the right time.

Readers of the magazine who have not had a chance to attend a club meeting can become members of the club by inducting yourselves into it in the privacy of your own homes, no matter where you live. Becoming a member has no negative effect on your universal rights as human beings or as readers.

The club is informal. There is no 'club poem' for you to learn. The club's unwritten and unofficial rules state quite clearly that the club has no 'rules.' There are no unofficial secret signs, signals or other jive. Even non-readers of the online magazine have also become members.

Club Fine-Print Suspended

This was threatened weeks ago, and went into force weeks ago. If you are a demon for large-size fine-print and want to read it again, or for the first time, please refer to 'Past Issues' or hit some of the links to past 'Club News' pages. Like the one just below.

The Café Metropole Club Membership Card

photo: virtual membership cardThis is the Café Metropole Club's tatty membership card. The rest of the mumbo-jumbo concerning this can still be found on the 'Club News' page where it last appeared some eons ago. However long ago is was, you get no archeology prize for looking it up.

Basically, having this card in your possession is not officially necessary, is not a 'rule' because there aren't any, and it is unofficially not discouraged.

The Next Club Meeting

The next meeting of the Café Metropole Club will be on Thursday, 3. August, in Paris. This is Sainte Lydie's Day in Paris. If you need to observe the conventions of this day, remember that after subtracting club time, there are still several hours left on this day for other activities.

What? Where? When? How? Why?

photo: location map, la coronaHere are the day, time and location details for you to note:

Café-Tabac La Corona
2. Rue de l'Amiral Coligny - or - 30. Quai du Louvre
Paris 1. Métro: Louvre-Rivoli or Pont-Neuf
Next Thursday at 15:00, until 17:00. In non-continental terms, even in Paris, the times are from 3 pm to 5 pm.

The directions about the café La Corona which used to be here can still be found on an old 'Club News' page. Like, whole eons old. The information not here describes the club's location within the café La Corona. This can be summed up as: ask at the café's bar or go behind it into the 'grande salle.' The way is signposted.

See you soon - A bientôt à Paris,
